Northern Delights Bakery is about more than sourdough and gluten-free treats. It's about community, kindness, purpose, faith and hope.

Behind This Bakery Is a Personal Story

I know what it feels like to be bullied. I know what it feels like when the hate is running through your mind at 100 mph and you wonder whether things will ever get better.

But my story didn't end in that darkness.

I found faith. I found hope. I found purpose. I learned that what happened to me did not have to control where I was going.

That is a big part of why we support mental health awareness, bullying prevention and helping people experiencing homelessness. As Northern Delights Bakery grows, I want our ability to give back to grow with it.

From Kitchener-Waterloo to Stratford, Keady, Owen Sound, Port Elgin and every community our journey takes us to, I want people to know something:

You matter. Your story matters. And your life has purpose.

There were times in my own life when I struggled to see the other side of the pain. Today, I can look back and realize that some of those hardest chapters helped create the person I am becoming.

🔥 Man on Fire

I would love to write a book one day called Man on Fire.

I know writing this book is going to take time. One of my biggest challenges right now is finding someone who can help me put my experiences into words and help me tell my story the way I want it told.

Having a learning disability can make something like writing a book more challenging for me, but I also want that to become part of the message.

Having a disability does NOT mean you can't accomplish the things you want to do.

• You might need extra help.
• You might learn differently.
• It might take you longer.
• Your road might look completely different from someone else's.

But your dreams still matter.

I want Man on Fire to tell the real story — the bullying, the difficult days, mental health, my learning disability, faith, finding purpose, changing my mindset, building a business and learning to keep moving forward when life tells you to stop.

I'm not a mental-health professional. I'm simply someone sharing my lived experience in the hope that my story might help somebody else.

If you're struggling today, remember:

"Your darkest chapter does not have to be your final chapter. A disability does not define your ability to dream. Keep your faith. Keep your dreams alive. Keep moving forward. Your story is still being written."

There was a time when I was afraid to put myself out there — Facebook Live, TikTok, YouTube or even sharing my story publicly.

But fear doesn't get to write the ending of my story.

🔥 That is what Man on Fire means to me.

There is still a fire inside me to build something, help people, tell my story and show others that their circumstances don't have to determine their future.

If my story eventually becomes a book and that book helps even one person believe in themselves again, every challenge of writing it will have been worth it.
